New IBC totes — for the jobs that genuinely need them.

We will be honest: our whole heart is in reuse. But some contents, certifications, and customers require a tote with no past. When that is you, we source first-run 275 & 330 gallon totes the responsible way.

Quick answerNew IBC totes are first-run containers built from virgin HDPE with a fresh steel cage and pallet. Choose new when regulations, ultra-pure contents, or customer specs forbid any prior-use history. For everything else, a reconditioned or used tote performs the same for far less money and carbon.

Straight talk

When new is the right call — and when it isn't

A brand-new tote is not automatically the safer choice. It is the right choice for specific reasons. Here is our honest field guide.

Choose new when…
  • Regulations or an auditor explicitly require virgin, single-history packaging.
  • You are storing ultra-pure, pharma-adjacent, or trace-sensitive contents.
  • A customer spec or contract locks you to new containers.
  • You need a UN/DOT-rated tote with fully documented, first-run provenance.
  • The tote will be exported and must meet an importing country's rules.
Consider used or reconditioned when…
  • You are handling water, ag inputs, soaps, or general industrial liquids.
  • Budget matters and the job does not require virgin material.
  • You want the fastest lead time from local California stock.
  • Sustainability reporting is part of your brand story.
  • A new HDPE bottle on a refurbished cage would perform identically.

Most buyers land here. See Used IBC Totes or Reconditioned Totes.

Grades

New tote configurations we source

Even brand-new totes come in flavors. Tell us the contents and the certification you need, and we match the build.

01

Food / FDA grade

Virgin FDA-compliant HDPE bottle, clean-room-adjacent handling, suitable for edible and potable contents from day one.

02

UN/DOT hazmat

Rated and marked for regulated liquids in transport, with the documentation auditors expect. Ideal for chemical logistics.

03

General industrial

Standard first-run build for non-hazardous industrial liquids where a customer spec calls for new.

04

Vented / de-gassing

Vented lids and caps for contents that off-gas, protecting the bottle from pressure or vacuum.

05

Composite vs. wood pallet

Choose a hygienic composite base for food and pharma or a classic wood pallet for general duty.

06

Custom valve & fitment

Swap to camlock, ball-valve, or specialty S60x6 adapters to match your existing dispensing gear.

Not sure which grade the regulation actually requires? Our Grades Explained guide decodes it, and we are happy to talk it through.

Responsible by default

Why even our 'new' program is a green one

Selling a new tote does not mean checking our ecology at the door. Every first-run unit we place comes with a plan to keep it circulating.

The greener default

Before you buy new, look at reconditioned.

A reconditioned tote with a fresh HDPE bottle often meets the exact same spec as new — at a lower price and a fraction of the carbon. It is the single most common way we save customers money without cutting a corner.

What you are paying for

What virgin HDPE actually buys you

New is not vaguely 'better' — it delivers specific, documentable things a used tote cannot. Knowing exactly what those are keeps you from paying for virgin plastic you do not need.

01

Zero prior history

A first-run bottle has held nothing but air. When an auditor or regulation demands single-history, single-use packaging, only a new tote can prove it.

02

Pristine contact surface

Fresh FDA-grade HDPE with no micro-scratching or absorbed residue — the standard for trace-sensitive, pharma-adjacent, or ultra-pure contents.

03

Fresh UN/DOT rating

A new tote can carry a current, fully documented transport rating for regulated hazmat liquids — the paperwork chemical logistics teams need.

04

Tight tolerances

First-run bottles come off the mold to repeatable dimensions, which matters for automated filling lines and precise racking.

05

Clean cosmetics

No labels, scuffs, or staining — the right look when the tote is customer-facing or part of a branded program.

06

Full spec control

Choose the bottle grade, pallet material, valve, and lid from scratch to match a locked customer or export specification exactly.

Honest comparison

New vs. reconditioned-rebottled, side by side

A rebottled tote puts a brand-new HDPE bottle inside a refurbished cage. For most 'I need new' jobs it hits the same marks for less. Here is where each genuinely wins.

Questions

New IBC totes FAQ

When do I actually need a new IBC tote?
When a regulation, auditor, customer spec, or export rule requires virgin, single-history packaging — or when contents are ultra-pure or pharma-adjacent. For water, ag, soaps, and general industrial liquids, a used or reconditioned tote performs the same for far less.
Are new totes food-grade by default?
We source virgin FDA-grade HDPE bottles for food and potable duty, but always tell us the contents so we match the right bottle, gasket elastomer, and lid to your application.
Can I get a UN/DOT-rated new tote?
Yes. UN/DOT-rated builds with full documentation are available for regulated liquids in transport. Tell us the UN number or hazard class and we will source the correct rating.
What is the lead time on new totes?
Anywhere from days to several weeks depending on the grade, rating, and quantity. If speed matters, ask about reconditioned units from local California stock as a faster alternative.
Will you buy the tote back when I am done?
Gladly. Every new tote we sell is a future used tote we would love to reclaim. Ask about our buy-back program up front and we will tell you how it works.
Composite or wood pallet — which should I pick?
Choose a hygienic composite base for food and pharma; a classic wood pallet is fine for general industrial duty and usually costs less. We will recommend based on your contents.
